Growing up in South Miami-Dade County, Marlon learned first hand that his personal RESILIENCE was a determining factor to his community survival and success. The same is true for the residents and multi generational families of District 9. Marlon believes our community RESILIENCE is grounded in THREE priority areas:
QUALITY OF LIFE
- Our insistence on creating and preserving a QUALITY OF LIFE that ensures neighborhood safety & security, treasures our environmental and agricultural assets, and activates the vibrancy of public parks
ACCESS TO PUBLIC GOODS
- Our demand for efficient ACCESS to and investment in the public assets of the County, including the ability to travel or be more mobile efficiently in our traffic flow to home and work or within the District or to secure more affordable housing options
OPPORTUNITY
- Our relentless pursuit of OPPORTUNITIES for economic advancement for families and small businesses
To embolden our community RESILIENCE, Marlon will bring his business acumen, knowledge of government, civic mobilization credentials and philanthropic network to this leadership opportunity as County Commissioner on behalf of the residents. Marlon is running for Miami Dade County Commissioner, District 9, to elevate the disconnected and disenfranchised voices of District residents at County Hall. Our voices matter when big decisions and goals are being made or conceptualized. And more importantly, they matter even more when magnified together.
