District 9 in Southwest Miami-Dade County, the largest geographic district of the thirteen, is comprised of historic heritage neighborhoods, new residential developments and sprawling farmland in between two national parks.
Everglades National Park spreads 1.5 million acres across the tip of South Florida supporting a habitat of wildlife and fauna. Biscayne National Park is the largest marine park in the national system with 95 percent of its 172,000 acres underwater.
The bustling local agricultural areas grow an assortment of exotic tropical fruits and vegetables and tropical landscaping fare. Attractions and destinations in District 9 include Cauley Square the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, and Zoo Miami.
